Flamenco Hen Party Dance Class NewcastleHeels down, chin up, one afternoon only.
Flamenco is the theme where attitude arrives well before footwork does. Your teacher spends the opening minutes on how a person stands — weight forward, shoulders pinned back, eyes locked on somebody across the room — and after that the stamping rather explains itself. One afternoon, one routine, composed live for whoever is actually standing there: £170 for the ninety minutes or £145 for the hour, plus only the venue’s hire cost. No experience required, and nobody arrives having done this before.
Tell us the date.
Date first, then rough numbers and a thought on the start time. Within the day you will have availability confirmed, whichever of the three rooms we hire suits your headcount, and the two figures in writing — teaching fee and the venue’s hire cost. Theme still unresolved while the date is not? Hold it as undecided and settle the argument nearer the time, at no cost.
front is taught, not inherited — the form is where it starts ✦
All front, no fear.
A flamenco hen party dance class works on hen parties precisely because it is nothing like the polite version people picture. Grace is not the point — the whole art rests on holding your ground and daring a room to look away, which happens to be the exact skill of women who have known each other for twenty years. Because it reads as difficult, everybody braces for a punishing afternoon and then finds that four moves, drilled properly, look like forty from six feet away. That is the trick of the thing, and it is why this particular hen do dance class tends to send people out of the door taller than they came in. Nothing is graded, nothing is assessed and nobody is expected back next Tuesday: one afternoon, built for your dance hen party, then finished. Among the hen party ideas circulating on your group chat, it is the one nobody in the party will have done before.
Bags down, stance up
Coats off, phones parked, and the opening ten minutes spent entirely on where the weight goes and where the eyes go.
Hands long before feet
Wrists, forearms and that slow unfurl come first, because they are what make everything afterwards look expensive.
The floor gets loud
Heel work in, counts drilled, and your teacher writes the number in real time around whoever is plainly enjoying it most.
One proper take
The finished thing filmed once at full volume, bride front and centre if she will stand for it.
no two parties leave with the same number — that is the entire point of building it live
Stance, arms, heel work and a filmed ending — the telling that actually feels like flamenco.
Tighter and louder about it: fewer shapes, drilled harder, finished in time for a table booking.
Cottages out past Hexham and flats above the Ouseburn have both hosted this one. Teaching fee only, nowt added.
one figure for the whole row of you — hen party activities counted by the head are somebody else’s business ✦
Three floors, your pick.
Heel work wants a floor with some give in it, and all three of the rooms we hire have exactly that. Your quote names the room and states its hire cost in writing before anybody commits to anything at all.
Filed afterwards.
Ninety minutes in and our quietest bridesmaid was stamping like she owned the building. Nobody saw that coming from a Tuesday-night-telly crowd.Maid of honour · party of 12 · Jesmond
Ten whole minutes went on how to stand before a foot moved, and it changed every single one of us. Photos from that afternoon still get sent round the group chat.Cousin of the bride · party of 19 · Tynemouth

Is this a beginners’ course or a one-off hen session?+
A one-off, entirely. Nobody signs up to a term, nobody gets placed in a level, and there is nothing to come back to on a weeknight — your party books a single afternoon, learns a routine written for that room and that group, and the story ends there. If somebody catches the bug afterwards that is a lovely problem for another day, but it is not what you are booking here.
What should we put on our feet for the stamping?+
Anything with a solid heel and a closed toe does the job — a block heel from the back of a wardrobe, an ankle boot, or trainers if knees are already complaining. Proper flamenco shoes are a beautiful object and not something the studio hands out; every stitch of what your party wears is brought by your party, which also means nobody is squeezing into a costume they hate.
Will the noise be a problem in a rented hen house?+
Rarely, and it is straightforward to manage. Where neighbours are close the teacher shifts the weight of the routine into arms, turns and the marking of the beat, which keeps every bit of the drama and loses most of the thunder. In the rooms we hire you can stamp as hard as the floor will take, which is the usual reason parties choose one.
How much does the whole party pay altogether?+
£170 for the ninety minutes or £145 for the hour — whole party included, plus the venue’s hire cost, both figures written down before you commit to anything. Dance where the party is already staying and the second figure never appears. Numbers never move the price either: a party of eight and a party of twenty-eight pay the same, because nothing here is counted by the person.
Can a mixed-age party of aunties manage flamenco?+
Better than most themes, because the power lives in the upper body and the stare rather than in jumping about. Your teacher pitches at whoever looks least keen, drops the heel work a gear for anyone who wants it dropped, and quietly hands the loudest sections to the ones who fancy them. Parties spanning nineteen to seventy-odd have shared a row here perfectly happily.
Where in the city would our flamenco session happen?+
One of the three rooms we hire — Newgate Street, Neville Street beside Central Station, or Jesmond Road — picked against your numbers and against wherever the rest of the day is heading. Say the word and the teacher comes to your hen house instead, anywhere across the North East, which is canny if the party has already settled somewhere with a decent floor to work on.
