Thriller Hen Party Dance Class NewcastleFourteen minutes of film, ninety of laughing.
Everybody can do about four seconds of it. The claw hands come out at every wedding disco in the country and stop dead the moment the actual choreography starts, and that gap is precisely what a Thriller hen party dance class fills. Your teacher takes the bits the group thinks it already knows, corrects them, then builds your own version around the room on the day, in one of three rooms we hire across the city or out at the hen house anywhere in the North East. £170 for ninety minutes, £145 for the hour, plus nothing but the venue’s hire cost. No experience needed — this is the most recognisable routine ever filmed and the least intimidating to begin.
Get the date nailed down.
Send the date, roughly how many are coming and a start time you have in mind. Within the day you will have availability, the room of the three that fits a line of your size, and two figures set out in writing — the flat teaching fee and, separately, what the room costs to hire. October weekends are the ones worth asking about early.
the arms are free; the room is the only thing with a price on it ✦
Muscle memory you forgot you had.
No other routine on earth can be partially performed by a room of fifteen strangers who have never been taught it. That head start makes for a fast and unusually satisfying hen do dance class: inside twenty minutes the group has gone from a vague impression of the video to something that genuinely reads as the real thing, which is a bigger jump than most themes deliver in a whole afternoon.
It is also the theme that photographs like nothing else. Thirteen people in a line doing the shoulder-lurch and all landing on the same beat is a better wedding-slideshow moment than almost anything else on the list. Parties booking around Halloween get an extra layer — the Ouseburn and the Quayside are full of hen groups in October and exactly one of them will have learned this properly — and as hen party ideas go it is the rare one that works just as well in April with nobody in makeup at all.
And it scales, which matters more than people expect. A dance hen party of six gets a tight, detailed version with everyone clearly visible; a party of twenty-four gets rows, staggered timing and a wave down the line that looks properly choreographed on film. The fee does not move between those two extremes, which is unusual among hen party activities in the city and the main reason the larger groups end up here.
Arrivals and a first attempt
Everybody does their own version of it once, badly, on purpose. It loosens a room faster than anything and the teacher learns plenty watching.
The shuffle, properly
The step everyone half-knows, taken apart and rebuilt until the whole line lands together. This is the bit people remember learning.
Your version gets built
Formation, timing, who breaks out of the line and how it ends — all composed as they go, to fit the group actually present.
Filmed in one take
Lights down where the room allows, one full run recorded, and a group chat rendered unusable for the rest of the night.
wor teachers build a different version every single time — nothing arrives pre-packed
The one to take for this theme: the routine holds more content than an hour can carry and the filming deserves the time.
The famous section learned properly and run clean. Plenty for a group with dinner booked at seven.
Halloween lets in Tynemouth, farmhouses near Hexham, a flat in Gateshead with the rug rolled up — class fee only.
howay and get the October dates in early — that month goes before any other
Three rooms, all yours.
Each room is hired by the hour for your party and nobody else’s, which matters more than usual here: this routine wants a long line and the freedom to make a great deal of noise learning it. The room and its hire cost are named on the quote before you decide anything at all.

eight answers, October first ↓
Do we have to dress as zombies for it?+
Not unless you want to. Every scrap of makeup, every torn shirt and the red jacket somebody’s brother owns are the group’s own to organise — nothing themed is handed out, lent or included here — and the class runs identically for a party in gym kit.
Will we learn the actual video choreography?+
The famous sections, yes — those are taught accurately rather than roughly. Everything joining them together is shaped around your group on the day: how many of you there are, how much floor there is, and what the room can comfortably manage.
What does a Thriller class cost for the group?+
£170 for the ninety-minute version or £145 for the hour, one flat sum for the group, plus the venue’s hire cost quoted separately in writing. At your own hen house the venue part is zero and the price never depends on numbers.
Can we book this for a Halloween weekend?+
Yes, and it is the busiest fortnight of our year, so late October dates want claiming well ahead. Everything else about the booking is unchanged — same fee, same rooms, same routine built for your group rather than for the season.
What if some of the group cannot do the floor bits?+
Then the floor bits go. There is nothing in this routine that cannot be done standing, and the teacher will quietly rebuild any section around a bad back, a pregnancy or a pair of shoes nobody thought through. It never looks like an adaptation on film.
How many people can learn this at once?+
Six to around twenty-five in the hired rooms, and more at a private house with the space for it. Big numbers genuinely suit this theme, since the staggered line only works when there is a line, and the fee stays put however many turn up.
Do you provide the music and the speaker?+
The sound side is ours: teacher, playlist and speaker all arrive together, so nobody has to nominate the friend with a Bluetooth box. That is equipment rather than costume — the dressing-up half of the day stays entirely with you.
Can we change to another theme later on?+
Up to roughly a week beforehand, at no cost. The date and the room are what your booking holds; the theme is a line on the paperwork, so a group that changes its mind in September loses nothing by saying so.
