Grease Hen Party Dance Class NewcastleSummer Nights, Tyne-side edition.

Fifty years on, Rydell still wins the vote — because every single person on your minibus already knows every word, from the nineteen-year-olds to the nanas. Your teacher takes that head start and composes a routine on the day for your exact crew, in one of three rooms we hire across the city or out at your hen house anywhere in the North East. £170 for the ninety, £145 for the hour, plus only the venue’s hire cost — and no experience required beyond enthusiasm and a loose grip on the lyrics.

Check my date

Tell me about it, stud.

More practically: the date, rough numbers and a start-time thought. Within the day you’ll hold availability, the best-fit room of the three, and the pair of written figures: teaching fee and venue hire. Committee still torn between Rydell and the ABBA lot? Book as ‘undecided’ and settle it later, free.

hopelessly devoted is a mood, not a booking — the form is the booking ✦

The evergreen champion

Nee homework needed.

Plenty of themes require the aunties to do homework; a Grease hen party dance class requires none whatsoever. Grease arrives pre-installed: the mams had the record, the bridesmaids had the school-disco version, and someone in your lot can still recite the drive-in scene. All that shared memory means your teacher spends the whole session building your dance hen party number instead of explaining it — which is exactly why, of all the hen do dance class options on the menu, this one suits parties whose ages span half a century — and of all the hen party ideas in the running, it’s the closest thing to a guaranteed yes.

iGenuinely all-ages.The rare theme where the nana and the teenager already share the chorus.
iiCostume-optional forever.Pink satin or plain leggings — the wardrobe is your gang’s department, never stock we hold.
iiiAn ending built in.Few soundtracks hand a finale to a routine as neatly as this one does.

Doors & nerves

Bags down, teacher met, nervous giggling converted to the real thing inside ten minutes.

B

Warm-up in disguise

Ten minutes of daft fifties shapes that turn out to be the building blocks of everything after.

The number appears

Your teacher writes it in real time — which songs, which moves, who takes the spotlight, all decided by the room itself.

Film the finale

The finale gets its proper take — expect it projected at the wedding within the year.

Fourteen T-Birds jackets on the Quayside at golden hour — the photographer among us nearly combusted. The class made the whole weekend.

Wor bride has loved this film since she was seven. Watching her lead the finale with her mam beside her finished most of us off.

Do we need the full Pink Ladies get-up for this?+

Only if the group fancies it — costumes are yours to source and nothing the studio stocks, and the class lands identically in gym leggings. Plenty of Toon parties compromise: bride in satin, everyone else in black tees.

Which Grease numbers make it into the routine?+

Decided in the room, never in advance — your teacher arrives carrying the whole soundtrack and reads the crowd before choosing. Shout requests on the day by all means; pre-promised setlists just aren't how bespoke works.

What's the total cost of a Grease hen class in Newcastle?+

£170 for the ninety-minute session or £145 for the hour, whole party in, plus the venue cost of whichever room you take, put in writing before you commit. At your own hen house that venue figure is zero, and nothing anywhere is priced per head.

Is ninety minutes of Grease a lot for mixed fitness levels?+

It plays as ninety minutes of laughing with movement attached: short drilled bursts, breathers built in, and a teacher deliberately pitching at the least gym-fit hen. Nobody's left doing burpees.

Can we do the class before a night on the Diamond Strip?+

That's the canonical Toon running order: class late afternoon — Newgate Street and Neville Street both sit minutes from the bars — quick change, Quayside photos, then out. The routine tends to resurface around midnight.

What happens if the group votes a different theme later?+

The booking holds your date, not your theme — switch any time up to about a week out at no cost, and Grease quietly becomes ABBA or whatever won the rematch.

If Rydell loses the rematch.
